Other bombing attempts foiled

Police sappers detonated explosive devices in Petach Tikva and Netanya this morning. There were no injuries in either city.

A suspicious object discovered at the entrance to Petach Tikva's open market at about 9:00am alerted passers-by and the police were summoned. According to a ynet report, eyewitnesses saw three youths leave the package before fleeing the area. Police sappers detonated the bomb in a controlled explosion.

Maariv reported that a second suspicious object was discovered in the Petach Tikva market. According to the report, the object was in a chocolate wrapper placed inside a plastic bag.

In Netanya, a bomb was discovered close to a falafel stand at the corner of Herzl and Weizman streets, near the city's open market. Police sappers arrived at the scene and successfully detonated the bomb in a controlled manner.
